Nick Kurtz is an American professional baseball first baseman for the Oakland Athletics in Major League Baseball. Born on March 12, 2003, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, he starred at Wake Forest University before being selected fourth overall by the Athletics in the 2024 MLB Draft. Kurtz made his MLB debut in 2025 and quickly became one of the game's most impactful rookies, finishing his first season with a .290 batting average, 36 home runs, and 86 RBIs. He earned the American League Rookie of the Year and a Silver Slugger award, and etched his name into the record books by becoming the first rookie ever to hit four home runs in a single game. Known for his powerful left-handed swing and run-producing bat, Kurtz is a cornerstone of Oakland's young core.
